Stuff That's Going On

Well...I'm working on the challenge. There are, I think, 33 of us. Not too shabby! I don't know how the rest of you have been doing this week, but I started logging food again. I haven't done that since the beginning. You know? When I was, apparently, dropping weight like it was hot and then moaning that the scale didn't seem to be moving no matter what I did? What an idiot I was! And http://www.livestrong.com/ tells me that to lose 2lbs a week, I need just over 1100 calories per day. It's SO easy to get to 1100 calories! I mean seriously? I can bite, lick and taste my way there without ever sitting down to eat a meal! Kind of freaked me out. And don't even get me started on wine!

In reality, I haven't lost much since Chicago. Less than 20lbs since then. I know I'm not alone in that. My real wake up call lately though, has been that people have stopped telling me how much smaller I look. For a while there, even though I wasn't really losing, I guess my body was still changing, or people weren't used to me at this size, so they were still mentioning it. Now...not so much. And I'm an attention whore! (shocking, I know!) I miss it! So that's a motivation for me.

The other motivation is the idea of having a tummy tuck. Lately, I think about it a lot. When I was fatter, I wasn't ashamed of how I looked naked. I've always liked myself...but lately...naked? Not so much. And I know that 80% of that is my stomach. It's a weird feeling to be self conscious about my naked body. Not that I'm looking forward to having or recovering from surgery. But I wonder what it would be like to have a flat(ish) stomach. I can't even imagine it. It's a nice dream though...

  1. You know I'm right there with you. I've been doing my fitness pal on my phone(I like livestrong better- but not their phone app). I'm doing a pound a week - it gives me 1200 calories a day - ugh. I at least try to log everything during the day and leave myself a good chunk at night.
My stomach will never be flat- it' s really my only super fatty area left, but without surgery(which I can't affor
d)it will always be a reminder of fat me - I guess thats ok.
Let's see how we do this week.

  3. it is so amazingly easy to lick bite and snack your way to a nice big calorie number and that just sucks (oh yeah, you can suck your way there too).

I think whatever motivation works... works! So use it! And I love your attention loving whoreishness, so don't go changing (except maybe in the flat stomach area)!

    xo

  5. Damn you and your challenge... :)

Since I am a lazy-bones, I've been really focused on moving my big butt, but definitely haven't been thinking as much about calories/nutrition as I should. Thanks for the reality check!!

  6. I have a consult scheduled for a tummy tuck. I still need to lose a lot, but I wanted to find out *exactly* how much I need to lose before I can have the tuck. Figured it'd be a good goal. Anyway, I'll see about a twofer.

  7. Oh my, I have given up all alcohol for this challenge! I also think I am going to attempt to log food. I have never been able to stick to doing that! Good luck to you!

  8. I'm too shitty to even join the challenge! I suck and I'm sorry but I'm one big BLT, bite lick taste and I'm a wine whore as well as an attention whore. I've only lost 20 since Chicago too....damn!

  9. How funny...I just started tracking my food again too. Livestrong is generously giving me 1204 calories per day and I am amazed how easy it is to go over that. I guess my, "Oh, I don't need to track, I'm sure I'm not eating more than 1200 calories per day," attitude probably slowed me down some, but I have been VERY VERY careful the last few days and can't wait to get on the scale on Sunday. (That's the other thing I did - I'm not weighing every day. It's been very hard to stay off the scale.) Anyway, I just really wanted to say thanks for hosting the challenge - I think it was exactly the motivation I needed to get me back to headed in the right direction.

  13. 1100 calories is tough. I dont like that number. I have decided that I am going to try and not go over 1400 a day. But I am not journaling either, so who knows if I will track the right way. I went to my doc yesterday and got on that scale the meausures everythign, and it told me to maintain my current weight I could consume 1500. I like that machine...even if it is lying to me.

I wish I was going to chicago so I could brush your pretty hair and we could do shots of each others loose tummys!
