Post Workout Glow

So this whole gym thing has been going for about a week and a half now. I'm feeling much less overwhelmed. I even did a Zumba class - the first since August! It was SUPER crowded, but I went with a girlfriend, so that meant no chickening out. I HAVE, however, chickened out of BodyPump twice. I'll do it, because I want to do it...it's just that I've been spending a good portion of my workout time on the weight machines, and frankly...OW! Yep...I'm a little sore at the moment. I keep telling myself that I'm gaining muscle, and that muscle is what's going to start my little fat-burning stove going again. It's very motivating!

Now let's talk about eating. It's been...un-good...for the past few days. And by un-good, I mean that I've eaten an ENTIRE bag of Miss Vickie's Kettle Cooked Sea Salt And Malt Vinegar chips. The entire LARGE SIZED bag. We're not talking any little pussy-single-serving-250-calorie-sized bag. And not in steps. Just the whole thing. And then I felt siiiiiiiiiick. Like praying-for-sweet-death-to-come-and-take-me kind of sick. So the next day, I decided that it would be a good thing for me to do liquids all day. Until I saw that piece of cake on sale for just $2.49. Which I bought. And then ate. Ugh. So what I'm saying here is that somehow, I need to tell my stupid fat-girl head that my hot fat-girl ass is trying to get in shape, so STOP thinking about food ALL the effing time!!! And REALLY stop EATING it all!

  1. Awesome on the gym! That is really fantastic and you're doing great!

Plus, it's really good that you're totally identifying the self-sabotage behavior (we all do it sometimes...) and telling yourself not to do it again! Maybe next time you want to do that, try to conjure up that siiiiiick feeling? Blaaaa... :)

  2. Way to go with the gym/exercise! :-)

I still have the binge eating behaviors too sometimes...but my guilty pleasure is a grande frappiccino WITH whip from Starbucks..600+ calories...sigh. It's good that you recognize your behaviors and are working on them...that's all we can do. Hang in there. HUGS :-)

  3. Good for you on the gym. OMG, those chips are the devil, who can blame you? I love all Miss Vickies chips, but really have to stay away from the slat & vinegar and the jalepeno. Oy!!
Good luck, when you figure this all out, send me the Cliff's notes!

  5. is that all you've got? ONE bag of chips? Sister friend, I am pretty sure I have consumed everything fat and terrible for me...oh...no stop for the last month. My new favorite thing is Promise butter. I dont know if you have it up there, but I am lumping it on bread products and shoveling it down my throat. It's a glorious time for me.

Good for you and the gym! It can be intimidating...shit...I would still be intimidated going to a real gym! Do the body pump!

  7. For me, I still think about it.... that is not always voluntary.
But what we CAN control is whether we EAT the things!

Some days I actually "get it!"

  8. Mrs. Vickers is a B.I.T.C.H.

I've had the same little issue ever since I started working out. I'm HUNGRY all the time. Not sure if I need a fill or if it's b/c of the calories exerted. It sucks.

Maybe we both need a teensy fill???

  9. Maybe you need a fill. Use that band. You paid for it!

And go try BodyPump. I actually loved it--that from me who has not been to the gym since January. Wow, how time flies. Hope to get down to Mississauga for a free fill in June. Will let you know so we can pre-drink at a pub before I get it!

  12. You ladies are hilarious. Called Miss Vickers a bitch. LOL.

...Zumba is always a fun workout because it doesn't feel like a workout, so good job with that. You live to eat "better" another day!
