Product Junkie!

I just got back from a sale. A L'Oreal sale. TONS of product! Shampoo, make-up, creams, lotions, potions...seriously the happiest place on earth. And I need nothing. I have cupboards FULL of product...and yet I spent $100 there. On what? Shampoo mostly.

I have this new obsession with making my straight hair not frizzy. Alexis recommended this amazing product from Living Proof, but although it works ridiculously well, it's $12 for basically a sample sized bottle of shampoo at Sephora. So I'm on a mission to find the miracle shampoo and conditioner combo that will actually do for my hair what it says on the bottle that it's going to do.

Have you ever read a bottle of hair product? It's like a freaking fairy tale. And I WANT TO BELIEVE!!! And I DO believe! Every single time I see the words "sleek" or "smooth" or "glossy", I am transported to a happy world where my hair (which is falling out like a mofo) cascades in smooth, shiny waves down over my shoulders, and people turn as I walk down the street in awe; a world where strangers walk up to me in malls just so they can plunge their hands into its soft, silky depths. Yeah. Not happening.

Vanity...thy name is Gilly! Intervention needed much?

  3. I love me some product too. Unfortunately I think the finishing product is key and they do tend to be expensive. Luckily though you usually don't have to use a lot of it.

  6. I'm in love with that Living Proof stuff (I wish it wasn't so dang expensive though too...). I need a 2nd job just to keep up with my beautifying product addiction.

  7. I use Aussie Three Minute Miracle conditioner almost every day. My hair is loooooooooong and it's the only thing that keeps it shiny and tangle-free.

  8. I'm so proud of you!! I LOVE a beauty binge.
Have you bought the Ouidad serum from Sephora yet? I am in lust with that stuff.
Thanks for the sweet note yesterday - I know you are there and that helps.

  9. See...with my boy-short hair there's not too much to achieve.
Your mane is gorgeous...wouldn't change a thing.

  10. At least you have hair to work on. Mine's soooo thin. Hey, that must mean the surgery's working! Something on my body is thin!!!

  11. I just got the Brazilian blowout from my salon. I know a little pricey ($150) but it is wonderful. You get out of the shower or pool and your hair looks like it was blow-dried. Absolutely fantastic. I am making sacrifices so I get this splurge instead. Lasts 3-4 months.

  12. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. I used to spend an hour at Drug Emporium when I was in college shopping all the little samples of hair elixirs, nail polishes, etc. I, like you, long for that luxurious, silky-smooth hair. Never happens.

The only time it's remotely that way is when I use this Matrix spray or Avon goop and then straighten it with a flat-iron. My 4 year old on the other hand could walk out of a hurricane and hers go back to a straight-as-a-board, silky mane.

  14. I realize I've already commented on this post, but since SOMEONE is being lazy in posting, I have something to add: You have gorgeous hair. You don't need to spend money on products. Spend money to come visit your friend in Connecticut. Or even NYC, and I'll come meet you there.
