I want to hit 70lbs down. It's two pounds away...I can practically touch it. However, between me and that two pounds is a lunch out, and a girlfriend's 40th birthday party with ever so much snacky food. And wine. But when it's me talking, that kind of goes without saying, doesn't it? So...I thought I'd post this here, to put my goal out there, and for accountability. Because I want this quite a bit.
Tomorrow I will finally try zumba. My final belly dancing class was last night and I am so sad it's over! It was the most fun class of all because we put together a routine, and I have to say, we kicked some serious ass! I wish you all could have been there to see me jingle my way around the studio! (by the way, my jingles now hang lower, not sitting on my ass shelf anymore, so they really JINGLE...it is HEAVEN!) Oh, and last night as I walked into class in my Old Navy XL yoga pants and my Old Navy XXL t-shirt, a bunch of the gals said "wow! how much have you LOST?? You are SHRINKING!" It was awesome! Much better than the weekend fiasco!
That's my story.
I love that story. Thought I heard some jingly tinkling in the wind last night...
ReplyDeleteSeventy. You can do it. You. Can. Do. It.
Wow - 70lbs!! That is so awesome! I am really, really happy for you. Keep up the great work!!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen the show Shimmy? I think it's on FitTV. It's belly dancing and I bought the entire set of DVDs. It might be something you would enjoy doing at home since your class ended. They are fun to watch even if you aren't able to follow along yet; they are very beautifully filmed and the narrator's voice is very soothing and calm.
Keep going to your goal; I'll be cheering for you!
Sending you seventy pounds down good vibes! You can totally do it!!!
ReplyDeleteI may have to get myself some ass jingles for October when Husband gets his two week vacay from Afghanistan...
ReplyDeleteI second the Shimmy show referral. The backgrounds are cheesy, but the girls do a good job.
Such a great post. You should do a vlog of you dancing to show us your moves. And I guess I should remind you that with all those other eating activities there is also Father's Day coming up. You can do it. Give him a BBQ brush and cook up some artichokes.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I hate you-did you see you have lost almost 70 pounds in LESS THAN 6 MONTHS. Tell me, did you think you could ever do that. And I don't hate you, otherwise I would be trampled by all the other bloggers. You know we all love you.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to 70lbs, I know you can do it!! I had to go to my first birthday party last night as well and you know what worked surprisingly well for me? Going COLD TURKEY on the snacks! If I had one chip, I would have wanted four handfuls. So I didn't have a single chip and it was surprisingly easy. This is beyond out of character for me because I am the snacking queen! Tell yourself ahead of time what you're allowed to eat/drink and include a few indulgences. You'll look forward to and savor those indulgences and you won't even notice the other stuff!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with everything!! Let us know how you do!
Best story I've heard all day! You can totally smash the 70 lb mark!!!
ReplyDeleteI am desperate to get to 70 pounds down! Sounds like you are going to beat me there and you were banded a month after me!!!
ReplyDeleteI am stuck two pounds away from fifty this week! I these stupid little two pounds! Good luck this week with reaching the goal - I know you can do it! Jingle, Jingle! <3
ReplyDeleteI'll hold you to it....you know I will. You smrt gorilla!!!!! Something something something inside joke..
ReplyDeleteWheee! I love inside jokes!!
ReplyDeleteRe: Shimmy! LOVE that show! I PVR it every morning! And Pie, dude...that is some good advice right there!
I want to belly dance when I get the go ahead after my six weeks out. I had a friend who took the class at a local community college and they even got to wear cute little costumes at their recital. :) I agree that you should put up a vlog sharing your belly dancing to inspire the rest of us. :)
ReplyDelete70 lbs...is very close...you can do it by the end of the week. Look how great you have done so far in less than 7 mos! You are my inspiration!
That's fantastic 68 pounds, 70 will be here very soon. I can't wait to bellydance my way to fitness... They have a class at the Y where I work out. I just TiVoed Shimmy too... Thanx for the suggestion girls! Congrats! *Maria*-BandGeek blogger from "This one time at Band Camp..."
ReplyDeleteBTW, Thanx for the Toronto suggestions, Gilly! We are unfortunately scheduled to be there during the G8... unrefundable. So we are going to make the most of it. We were going to see our Phillies play the Blue Jays but they moved the games to Philly and refunded our tickets. We did get some free ticket voucher thingys in the mail as well, I will send them to you if you email me your address. *Maria*
ReplyDeleteGo 70...Good luck at Zumba,,,definitely don't read Stephanie's Zumba blog from yesterday...it'll scare the pooh right out of you.
ReplyDeleteGood luck toots.
Come on 70.. give it to Gilly.. wonderful milestone.. love your attitude to live your life while getting to your goals..
ReplyDeleteYou can do it!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jenny you can do it... 68 lbs is awesome and 70 is even better.. I hate the question of so how did you loss it. If I know and trust the person I tell them if I dont really know them and so on I just say portion control and exercise.. Lot really a lie.. LOL.. I sometimes feel guilty or bad that I have the band but later I am like what ever. I did this for me not them.. HATERS. LOL.. Keep us posted on the 70 gone....
ReplyDeleteCongrats on losing almost 70 pounds already! I just passed the 70 pound mark (barely)...it took me 16 months! You are awesome!!! I think you should show us your belly dancing routine in Chicago for BOOBS!
ReplyDeleteHi Gilly! Got carried away with your last post and left a comment, then realised it's not the recent post, so thought I'd let you know. Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteCaroline
Just caught up on the ol' Gilster blog.
ReplyDeleteYour cardio fusion post made me tear up with pride for you. (I felt lame but whatevs.)
I don't even know what a chickpea is. Looks like a garbanzo bean. But I've never tried one of those either. (I eat like a 5 year old.)
Let us know how Zumba went. And I suspect your big seven-oh post will soon follow!
Ha - Jess called you Gilster. 70? Good God - you rock. I don't know why I'm acting surprised...I knew you would do this. Loves you!
