Last night, finally, Zumba and Gilly came together, and we came together in a hot fusion of latin funk like the world has never seen! Did the lights dim where you were? It was powerful.
Let me say this, in case you haven't gleaned it from the above: I loved it! I want to do it every day for the rest of my life. My right knee does not agree with me, but we're gonna talk and work something out. I can't wait for the next class, and yes, the next class will see my ASS JINGLES!!!
Oh...and one more thing: after taking a Zumba class, I finally understand the term "gadonkadonk". God I hope I spelled that right. I am blindingly white. Soul sisters, help this fat white girl out! Did I get that right?
Party tonight, ladies. Send me all your self control vibes; I'm gonna need 'em. Wine and appies...here I come!
You're going to turn into a little Latin She Devil (my friends call me "White She Devil")
ReplyDeleteGOOD FOR YOU! (braggart.) My lights DID dim last night!! Crazy! I wish I was there to take the class with you since I'm a royal chicken when it comes to classes.
ReplyDeleteit's "badonkadonk"......silly white girl.
I googled it: "Refering to the beautiful vision of two nice, big, meaty, round butt cheeks as they bounce from side to side as that fine female strolls along." Now that creates a picture in one's mind. :)
ReplyDeleteWith that image in mind...happy weekend!
I always heard it as badonkadonk, but anything similar to that works I think lol.. I need control vibes, too, I am already sipping on a ginormous margarita! Uh oh...
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's a Canadian thing, like the way you spell colour....
ReplyDeleteMaybe in Canada they say gadonkadonk, eh?
gadonkadonk LOL
ReplyDeleteMy knee bothered me some when i was done too. I think it was because my feet had way too much traction on the floor. I noticed in my class that several people had "special" shoes. The kind that grips the floor only enough so you don't fall, but not enough to jerk your knee. They kind of looked like real bowling shoes on the bottom (with felt in some spots). I am guessing that they were jazz shoes but who knows :)
ReplyDeleteI love me some Zumba! I go twice a week!
ReplyDeleteFun! I can't wait to try it!
ReplyDeleteYAY YOU!
ReplyDeleteLove Joey's theory of the Canadian gadonkadonk. As I was driving to Toy Story 3, I passed a dance studio with a big ZUMBA sign out front. Totally going to try it next week.
ReplyDeleteGo on and enjoy those apps, Gilly. Sunday weigh-in is just 36 hours away, and I've already got a lock on this week's competition.
I adore Stephanie but her Zumba post earlier this week scared the pooh out of me. It made me never want to go when all along my goal has been to start going once I hit onederland...about 8 more pounds...DH even said he's go with me. Your post just undid all of the scariness of Stephanie's post...thank you.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited that you loved it!!
ReplyDeleteI went and bought dance sneakers today at the sports store just for Zumba...and some new fun pants that make my ass look cute when I am shaking it.
Well you are all braver than me. I have a Zumba class just up the road and I cant pluck up the courage to go. Maybe I will wait till pay day and get the jazz shoes and then have to go to make use of them. Well done on taking the plunge and liking it!
ReplyDeleteWell of course that is how you spell it in Canadian because of course we use the proper Queen's English. OK, I confess, I have no idea what you are talking about. A little spelling bee definition might help. So whatever the word, I guess you have to be there to actually hear it. But still glad you are finding your groove. Have you thought of trying a knee brace to stabilize the knee?
ReplyDeleteToo funny.
ReplyDeleteI want to take a zumba class once I lose a little more weight. Work your badunkadonk girl!
ReplyDeleteYou go girl!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you loved it!
ReplyDeleteI love Zumba...it's so much fun! I feel like it has helped me so much. Good luck!
