Fill #4, For Those Of You Who Are Interested In These Types Of Things

So I went for my fill this morning, and I told her that I am averaging 2.5 hours between meals and having no problems tolerating anything - I could basically swallow half a steak and never know I did it.  Then I got the lecture about how I'm not supposed to FEEL restriction, it's about satiety and if I can feel it, then I'm too tight, and I'm all "no worries", and then she asks me if I'm eating more than a cup of food at a time, which I truthfully tell her I am, and then she tells me to not to.  So I say ok.  Then she says "oh you live in ... ?" and I say yes I do, and she says "ok, well then I'll give you .4.  I was only going to give you .3 but since you're close, I'll give you .4 but you have to COME IN if you're too tight, which I solomnly swore that I would.  But it made me secretly go yay, because maybe that means she thinks I'm super close to sweet spotness.  Which I really hope I am.  However, she also very sweetly told me that the big thing is that I have not gained.  Woohoo.  And that's that.

So I just ate (drank) a Tim Horton's large coffee and then I had a cup (yes...a CUP) of Tom Yum soup, broth only.  So we'll see what happens...

  1. I hope this one gets you to your sweet spotness Gilly! :) My Dr. always asked me the same question.."Are you eating more than a cup of food?" Answer: "Yep" Reply: "Don't" Answer: "Oh, um...Sure..yeah, yeah OK" Hahaha.
Till you hit the 'sweet spot' it's next to impossible. I'm glad you are not hungry though - that's great! 2.5 hrs. is pretty great.
Here's hoping this is 'the one.'
What did you think of the jeans? I hope I did the forms right and you didn't have to pay a billion dollars in custom taxes. I mean they were free, used jeans. C'mon!!

  2. I hope this gets you to your sweet spot. That's awesome that she gave you just a little more.

I just read your blog and got all caught up. Your blog has really helped me! I am in the process of waiting for approval from my ins co but am already on the pre-op diet. I have a pretty harsh pre-op...no dairy no carbs no sugars of any sort. There's a ton more "no's". Reading how you did with your pre-op, which I think was harsh, too, has helped me! And it was a pleasure to read your progress and get all caught up. You have such a cute personality!

I look forward to seeing what tomorrow holds!

  13. Well, how's it going? Is this it? I haven't had my surgeon ever give me a difficult time about a fill... or words (like "restriction")... but I always worry that I'll say the wrong thing. Soooo... I'm just keeping it to "I feel like I'm doing this myself".
