So Far So Good

But did you know that a McDonalds cheeseburger has 300 calories????  THREE HUNDRED!!!!!!!!  I nearly passed out!  AFTER I ate it.  So the lesson here - check calorie content BEFORE you eat the awesomely delicious thing you're thinking of eating.  That said, it's not a big deal because all I ate prior to that was a coffee, so it totally fits in my day...I was just shocked because man, I used to eat three of those things with no fries and think I was really making a better choice (ta DAAAA - the reason I am a fatty! *jazz hands*) Yeah, there are only bad bad bad choices at McPuke's.  But oooooh was it ever yummy!  It was my first solid since the fill yesterday and it seems to have gone down ok...although I CAN feel it in there.  Its calming, fatty, junk-foody presence, caressing me from the inside.  Mmmmm...

Sorry...where was I going with that?  Right...restriction?  I say yes!

  3. I can't believe you tackled a hamburger. I don't mean calorie-wise but like, fear-of-stuck-wise. I didn't feel my fill for a day so be careful kiddo! Stuck no fun.

  4. mmmm...I used to like those things before I saw Food, Inc. lol (I'll spare you the details.)

Were you able to eat the bun too? I'm PMS'ing and craving bread. I have no idea why b/c I haven't had bread since sometime in January but still....

I'm glad you got the jeans! :)

  6. I noticed you got off track there with your post. But you came back. LOL. I tackled a ham & swiss from Timmy's and ate the attached bun and all the innards plus a bowl of soup. I will say, Restriction?? Hope I get it soon (maybe next week). And I hope this is getting you to that sweet spot.

  8. I was going to say it's the American way... more calories per dollar than any other place... oh, but Canada is in North America, so it still works.

I'm appalled at the calorie counts on some of the value items at Taco Bell. I was going to have a small "something something" (under a $1 I think) once and was lucky that I could only eat half. It had a huge amount of calories.

  9. The sad part is that the bun is 150 of those 300! I never ever thought flour could possibly have that many calories. The chicken nugget happy meal with apple dippers (w/caramel) and a milk is only 90 calories more for a heck of a lot more food. If you take out the caramel then you have a 320 calorie meal.

Can you tell I looked this up once or twice :)I was really hungry one day when traveling and wanted to stop and get something small at Micky D's. I thought for sure a small cheeseburger would be ok. Luckily I checked the calories on my phone before because the happy meal filled me up so much more!

  10. Is it bad that I don't think 300 calories is that bad for something like that? I mean, what if you just had that and an apple for lunch? Not really bad, right?

  11. That's funny. I'm like Jennifer and have not had fast food since watching Food, Inc. I won't give details, but avoid that movie if you would miss the burgers. Jazz Hands. Funny!

  14. The jazz hands made me laugh, Gilly. It's funny about McD's, they have a way of luring people in. I was in New York today, we were dragging kids around Times Square and my son's 4-year-old friend yelled, "McDonald's!" every time he spotted the sign. Times Square is PACKED with humanity, cabs, buses, cops, flashing lights, huge screens and bright signs. And this kid could not keep his eyes off the McDonald's sign. He must have yelled it out six or seven times. He walked right past the Naked Cowboy, never even saw him, because his eyes were glued to that sign. (We didn't go, btw.)
