March Break

Let me preface this blog entry by saying that while I have children, and I love them overwhelmingly, I really don't care for OTHER people's children.  Yes, that probably means yours.  And so, you can understand then, why March Break is probably my least favourite time of the year.  One week, dedicated to making life fun for children.  Everywhere I go...other people's children.  Once, years ago, I made the huge mistake of taking my then-toddler son to Chuck E. Cheese during March Break.  Since that day, I've known that when I go to hell, that's where I'm going.  Chuck E. Cheese at March Break...for eternity.

That said, today is day 2 with no killings, or even maimings.  But why did I not notice how much of March Break revolves around food??  Yesterday, out for lunch...today...movie with popcorn, etc.  Tomorrow, the Royal Ontario Museum (I am bringing lunch for that little excursion!)  I can only assume that last year was worse, because now I'm mindful of it.  And you know, not only do I never recall doing anything during MY March Breaks growing up other than watching game shows (no whammies no whammies STOP!!!) and getting hooked on daytime dramas (Josh and Reva...anyone??)  But I digress.

And so:  I hereby announce that I will NOT be weighing this week.  Not that I'm being super bad...I'm not.  I am just not gonna.  Suck on THAT!

  2. When my kids were little I loved Chuck E Cheese, I would bring a magazine give the kids a million tokens and drink a pitcher of beer.
Those were the days. Have fun on break.

  3. I don't have kids of my own yet, but I feel ya on the not caring so much for other kids. I love kids, but if they don't listen I have very little patience. I hope I more patience with my own kids when I have them. Hmm....

  4. I only know it is March break because my birthday is always smack in the middle. That and going to any of the stores and seeing swarms of little ones hanging off their moms legs. That and there is NO traffic when I go to work because no one is at work.

At least the weather is warm (except for Jess from So. Cal, who would think this is cold). I like the comment above about the mag and beer at Chuck E Cheese-only went once there and I'm sure I would be drinking the beer.

    Only 5 days left!

  5. I totally agree about Chuck E Cheese and I don't even have children. I absolutely refuse to go to birthday parties there, there isn't enough xanax in the world to make me go.
