The Museum

So yesterday, I went with my mum and my sons to the ROM - The Royal Ontario Museum - very touristy...if you're visiting Toronto, don't miss it!  Wile there, I learned two things:  first of all, don't bring your bad tempered 3 year old there unless you have a stroller to lock him into, and second, I could walk the whole thing!

Some of you may remember, I have a mangled knee and because of that, I don't do a lot of walking.  But since I've begun losing weight, I've found that I can walk more, and I was super proud of me for being able to do the museum!  I did have a couple of fat-girl moments there though, and I really can't wait for those to end, I really can't.  Ridiculously, the restaurant there had cheap Walmart plastic lawnchairs.  Inside!  And we all know about fat girls and lawnchairs, don't we?  So basically, I sat there, saying a silent prayer to the fat chick gods, absolutely certain that the thing was going to collapse and that literally hundreds of children were going to go back to school on Monday talking about the highlight of the march break - the day the fat lady killed her chair at the museum!  However, the chair did NOT break.  NSV?  I say YES!!

Also...I did a huge flight of stairs, which previously would have been absolutely NOT done.  I think that a lot of times my brain tells me that I can't do something, and I'm so used to listening to my brain that I just believe it.  My brain needs to shut the hell up sometimes!

Ok...now, off to Old Navy to save 30% and see if I can find a bathing suit for WTTC.

  1. Oh my hell... lawn chairs. I was at a picnic once, and actually fit into the chair. I moved for some reason or another, and put my chair in a wood chipped area, sat down, and all four chair legs sank completely into the mud underneath the wood chips. And being really, really fat... I couldn't get up off of the ground. So embarassing. Luckily, my hubbie is wonderful and helped me up quickly. BTW, no one elses chair sank all the way in.

GREAT lawnchair NSV yesterday!!! Happy to hear you are winning the battle against that nightmare.

  2. my favorite chair story was just from this past christmas (and kind of like band babes)...my bf and i went to a party & were oustside smoking, there was a wrought iron patio set so we decided to sit there. well apparently the ground wasn't frozen because as soon as i sat down the legs sunk into the ground a good 4 inches!! lol luckily nobody was around and i was a little buzzed so i just laughed :-)
yayy for you and your nsv's!!

  4. Yahoo for the NSV's especially being able to walk up the stairs! Just one more day of keeping the kids occupied and then back to school next week. Have a fun weekend-maybe Chuck-e-Cheese again? Or maybe a Wave Pool-I used to lose my kids all the time in the pool.

You look so happy in your picture.
