Wow!

Today, I think my 3 year old is getting sick.  I base this on the ridiculously insane tantrums he threw when I made him leave Gramma's house today.  Like throwing himself on the floor and just laying there screaming kind of tantrums.  In which I had to put on his winter clothes while he lay there kicking at me and then had to carry his writhing and screaming body to the car.  Which nearly killed me.  And he only weighs 38lbs.  I have lost 45.  Which led me to a little NSV moment of clarity as I hobbled to the car with this VERY heavy child in my arms (true, my fat has never kicked and screamed, but still), I've lost MORE than this crappy evil kid...how did I carry all that around everywhere???  It was a wow moment, and I am so delighted that I'll be having lots more of those.

My mother just sent me an email: "Is my gransdon still alive?", which is reasonable, because when we left her house, I was really really wanting to kill him.  I replied: "Yes...he's sleeping.  Not with the fishes.  Just sleeping."

That is all.

  1. Nice t-shirt!

My five year old refused to go to pre-school one day, and stood at the bottom of two flights of stairs. To his horror, I simply picked him up and carried him up the stairs, with practically no effort at all. I had lost more than double his weight, and I was obviously conditioned to that kind of weight stress. Scariness to think about that. No wonder I didn't want to walk anywhere or do anything. Geezus.

  3. Funny. My little guy also weighs 38 pounds and I had a similar thought the other day. I've only lost 30 pounds so far, it was shocking to me when I realized it was almost as much as my entire child!

  4. ROFLOL... I've had many a day like that, and I completely agree it is a sign of a soon-to-be-sick-kid! In fact, mine had quite the meltdown tonight... she's been fighting something for a while - maybe it is finally coming to a head. And she's 65 lbs... I was "dancing with her" (you know, when they stand on your feet and you walk them around) the other day thinking how damn heavy she was and it clicked - that I used to carry that around every f*&%ng day!!! Go us.

  5. Cute about fighting with the chunk of weight-well your cutie pie son. They can be so frustrating and then so sweet. We live for the sweet moments.

I'll be getting "filled" here in Ottawa. Cost me $75 every time. So hope one will do me. May try to go sometime in the spring/summer but the cost of gas to TO is the same as the cost of the fill here. We'll meet up one day. You'll have to wear that bikini in the profile pic. LOL.
